Jorginho thinking about retirement after World Cup qualification embarrassment

Italy's failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA WORLD CUP after their 0-1 loss to North Macedonia in the playoffs has left a number of players distraught.

According to Corriere dello Sport, three Italian players including Jorginho, Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne left the Italian camp at the weekend.

This could be a sign that the trio are contemplating international retirement after failing to help their nation qualify for the World Cup.

All three players were heavily criticized by the fans for their poor performances in the loss and are now thinking about their future.

Jorginho in particular was devastated and said that his penalty misses in the group stages of World Cup Qualifiers will hunt him for ever in his life.

Less than 9 months ago Jorginho was on top of the world having won the Champions League with Chelsea, the Euros with Italy and was also declared UEFA Men's player of the year to top things off.

This is the second consecutive World Cup that Italy have failed to qualify for after missing out the trip to Russia in 2018.
